Watercities in transition, European cities of the future.

On 23 and 24 August an international congress on European cities in transition in the context of water and environmental planning takes place. It is organized by the Royal Dutch Waternetwork (the Dutch IWA) together with NIROV […].

European cities have to face immense challenges: coping with extremes like flooding, extreme showers and heat stress, making the watercycle sustainable, respond to population growth and decline, sustainable energy production, energy saving and environmental improvement.
This congress offers inspiration, knowledge and sharing experiences on water and environmental planning:

Themes:
• Redevelopment: combination of challenges like the Swedish
• Growth and decline in Europe: impact op waterquality en -quantity
• Waterinfrastructure: sustainable according to London
• Sustainable energy and water the Scandinavian way
• Urban flood design: German solutions
• Heat stress: not only a Spanish problem

This congress takes place in Amsterdam during the famous international event Sail 2010.

Submission of posters Water and Energy 2010

Posters within the scope of the conference are welcome. Authors should submit an abstract of about 1,000 words (2 pages) to the Conference Secretariat, before November 1st, 2010. The contributions should focus on the topics mentioned. Send also a photograph and a short text about yourself with your abstract.

All abstracts should be typewritten in English. An international Programme Committee will review your abstract. Only posters presented in person by the author(s) will be accepted. Authors must be able to meet their own expenses and fee. You can send your abstract to waterandenergy@moorga.com.

The IWA Water and Energy conference 2010 in Amsterdam is a follow-up of the IWA Water and Energy conference in Copenhagen, Denmark 2009. The 2010 event will have an emphasis on demonstration and implementation, e.g. examples of energy innovations in the water sector.
